AirRadio to launch first UK Airport Digital Service
AR-en – the enhanced network from AirRadio to launch at Birmingham Airport
07 June 2006: AirRadio Limited today announces it is to launch the first Airport Digital Community Radio Service in the UK using TETRA. Bringing together the combination of: spectrum availability, technical capability and an established and growing customer base, AirRadio will operate the service at Birmingham International Airport (BIA). BA Connect will be the first customer when the service, to be known as AR-en – the enhanced network from AirRadio, goes live in one month’s time.

AirRadio provides Trunk Radio Service to Penauille Servisair at Liverpool John Lennon Airport
Penauille Servisair has become the latest client to sign-up for AirRadio’s trunk radio Services at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. The move to AirRadio’s network was driven by the requirement for greater functionality and reliability of communications as Penauille Servisair continued to win new customers serving additional routes.

AirRadio wins Menzies Bussing Contract at London Heathrow
AirRadio has won its first order with Menzies Support Services, an operating unit of Menzies Aviation. The order is indeed AirRadio’s single largest contract win since becoming part of the Telecom Group in August 2003.

Digital Trunk Radio at UK Airports-Testing the Water
Much has been made of the benefits of digital trunked radio systems in UK airports despite there being little prospect of the spectrum being released in the foreseeable future. Customers nonetheless are keen to understand how the perceived benefits over existing analogue systems justify the quantum increase in cost. Air Radio conducted a recent trial of digital trunked radio with a view to finding out just what these benefits were and if they could create a compelling case based on return on investment. At the same time the trial would give valuable operational data to help with planning for future digital networks when the spectrum is finally released.

Luton Handling Joint Venture extends contract for 3 years
In Febraury 2004 AirRadio took ownership and control of the Trunk Network Infrastructure at Luton Airport that was previously owned by Aviance. Since then a series of system enhancements and functionality upgrades have been made and our presence at the airport has become well known. Our launch customer, Luton Handling JV (a joint benture between Aviance and Easyjet) has now extended its contract with us for Trunk Network Services fir a further 3 years until 2007.

Servisair / Globeground shuffle operations at Manchester
After the merger of sister companies - Servisair and Globeground - by owners Pennaulle, the group has decided to spilt ground handling responsibilities at Manchester by terminal.
Servisair will now provide services in Terminal 1 and Globeground in Terminal 2 with AirRadio providing the communications infrastructure in both.
